We begin our tour riding across the Erg Chebbi dunes, experiencing the golden sea of sand on powerful KTM bikes. After stopping in Khamlia village, we enjoy a traditional performance of Gnawa music played by local musicians.
Our journey continues through desert tracks toward Begaa, the last village before the Algerian border. We pass by the beautiful Tisrdmine oasis and finally stop at Safsaf, where we enjoy a picnic lunch under the trees.
In the evening, we reach Erfoud, a desert town known for fossils and date palms. Here, we check into a comfortable hotel, relax, and enjoy a hearty dinner.
After breakfast, we hit the road again and explore the Jbal Mdawar mountains, with incredible views all around. These mountains offer a mix of soft off-road trails and rocky paths perfect for a motorbike adventure.
Next, we ride to Aferdou, a mountain shaped like a traditional Moroccan tajine. It’s a great place for photos and a short rest. Then, we descend toward the Bourika oasis, where palm trees and green fields create a beautiful contrast with the desert. We arrive in M’harech by evening and settle into a desert camp or guesthouse for dinner and overnight.
On this day, we follow parts of the Paris-Dakar Rally route, riding across vast open plains and rocky desert roads. We pass through Maader and Oumjran, small remote places full of mystery and silence.
Along the way, we meet Berber nomads living in tents and traditional desert dwellings. We may stop to share tea and learn about their way of life.
In the late afternoon, we arrive in Zagora, the last town before the real Sahara begins. We check into a hotel, take a warm shower, and enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner.
Today, we travel north along the Draa Valley, a green stretch of palm groves and ancient villages that follow the Draa River. We stop in Nkob, a village famous for having over 45 traditional kasbahs.
We enjoy a Berber lunch in Nkob and visit one of the beautiful kasbahs to understand its architecture and history. Then, we continue toward Tazarine’s palm grove and ride through mountain passes between Djbel Saghro and Djbel Ougnat.
In the evening, we reach Alnif, where we have dinner and spend the night in a cozy hotel.
On the final day of our tour, we head back toward Merzouga. We make a stop in Rissani, an old desert town known for its souks (markets) and traditional life. We explore the Molay Ali Chrif Mausoleum, walk through the market, and maybe pick up some souvenirs.
After lunch, we ride back to Merzouga, where our unforgettable 5-day motorcycle tour comes to an end.
