On the first day of this 5-day desert moto tour from Merzouga, you’ll start with a delicious breakfast at your hotel. Afterward, our guide will take you to the garage to get all your equipment, sign the contract, and test your motorbikes. Our guide will also explain how to control the bikes and ensure you are ready for the adventure ahead.
Once prepared, the journey begins with a short ride through the dunes before heading to the village of Taouz. Here, you’ll explore ancient stone engravings before continuing to the small village of Jdaid, located near the Moroccan-Algerian border. We’ll take a break here to enjoy a refreshing Coca-Cola or coffee, if you wish.
The adventure then takes you through Erg Ouzina, following the old Rally Dakar route, until you reach the village of Ramlia. Here, you’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch and take a rest. Afterward, you’ll cross the Oued Ghriss river to reach Tafraout Sidi Ali, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional guesthouse.
On the second day of your adventure, after enjoying breakfast at your hotel in Tafraout Sidi Ali and preparing for the day, we will set off on an incredible ride. The journey takes us through the desert plateau of Bouhyara, riding alongside the Moroccan-Algerian border.
Our first major stop will be at the oasis of Zgilma, where we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch under the shade of palm trees and take an hour to rest and relax. Afterward, we’ll continue riding along the old Rally Dakar route, crossing the beautiful Draa Valley to reach Tagounite. Here, we’ll pause to enjoy a coffee break before continuing our journey.
The next leg of the trip involves crossing the mountains and taking in the stunning scenery between Tagounite and Mhamid El Ghizlane. Around 5 PM, we’ll arrive at our hotel in Mhamid, where you can unwind and prepare for the next day’s adventure.
We will leave Ouzina after breakfast and head towards Jdayd and Taouz. From there, we will continue to Begaa, the last village before the Moroccan-Algerian border. Afterward, we will return to Khamlia village through Erg Znigi to have lunch and enjoy the captivating sounds of Gnawa music.
Next, we will head to the Merzouga dunes for plenty of fun, including watching an incredible sunset from the top of the highest dunes. Finally, we will descend to your hotel in Merzouga, where we will conclude this amazing 5-day moto tour.

Riding through the dunes of Erg Chebbi and the vast landscapes of Erg Chigaga was exhilarating. The accommodations, especially the desert camps, were comfortable and well-organized.
